Kettle-Bottom #1 and #2
Kettle-Bottom #2 (Capsize)
Kettle-bottomed sailing ships were originally designed as a method of evading import taxes on a portion of the cargo that these ships carried. Import taxes were charged by the length and width of a vessel on deck. By flaring the hull out and down away from the deck, kettle-bottomed ships increased their actual capacity without increasing their registered capacity. This design also made these ships more stable upside down than right side up.

More Things
Not much of what I've been working on has been showing up here. A good deal of it is sculpture. What isn't sculpture is screen printing, or a woodblock, or an etching. Paintings also. Most of it isn't done yet. Some will be here soon.
